Two of the first eight Gymini figures came back with skin and a hoodie. The rest were grey clay, which is what I wanted. I'm rendering one figure per movement instead of drawing them, and the whole point is that sixty of them look like they came from the same hand. Two in eight that don't is a problem that gets worse, not better.
One sentence fixed it: "entirely matte grey like a clay maquette, no skin tones, no facial features." I added it to the brief, retried the two, and both came back right the first time. That sentence is now fixed text in the brief. Nothing gets rendered without it.
Why clay and not people. A real person in a workout app is somebody's body, and every body is a statement about who the app is for. A grey figure is nobody. It's a shape you can copy. And it never needs a model release.
